| Write programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made. | |||
| Test, maintain, and repair the JVM (Java Virtual Machine); Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance; Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design; Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems; Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system; Coordinate installation of software system; Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications; Analyze information to determine, recommend and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. | ||
| Bachelors degree in computer science or relevant field required; 2-4 years experience required. SKILLS: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and manage one's time; Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery; Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue; Knowledge of computer hardware and software; Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc. | ||
| Senior Developer resources with prior experience in Java based web application design and development. Demonstrated 7+ years of experience in OOAD using established methodologies and notations such as UML and using design patterns for high level and detailed level designs. Demonstrated experience in using Rational Toolsets (Requisite Pro, Clear Case, Clear Quest, RationalDesign, RAD, RSA, RSM) to deliver systems. Prefer 5+ years of experience in Rational Toolsets. Demonstrated experience with application servers and corresponding development tools, build tools, and configuration management practices. Demonstrated experience with large-scale distributed systems using message queues, SOA and related technologies Demonstrated experience in Test Driven Development using test frameworks Demonstrated 5+ experience in either Java/J2EE (Spring, Spring MVC, JUnit, Code Coverage, Profiling, Performance Tuning). Demonstrated 5+ years of SQL development background including performance and tuning skill-sets
