 This function covers incumbents responsible for the planning and development of technical support surrounding operating systems capabilities. This role require advance knowledge to designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software tools including operating systems, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and or influences hardware design. The Engineering function captures individuals responsible for providing on-going complex enterprise technical support. Typically this role is found where individuals cover a broad area of responsibilities rather than focusing on one specific role.

Additional Skills:

Linux, Kickstart, UNIX Shell scripting; Nice-to-have: ORSYP Sysload, ITRS monitoring, worked in DMZ environment
