Requirements Details:

Position:   QA Tester

Location:  Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Duration:   3-6 months

Position Description:

The QA Professional tests IT applications and ensures they are free of serious defects and conform to written requirements. This is accomplished through a combination of manual and automated testing. The candidate works with product development, senior QA staff, and project managers to develop test plans or to follow previously written test plans.

 

Responsibilities:

• Work as part of an agile team in sprint planning and execution including acting in a role other than pure QA when needed for the success of the team and project.
• Manually test applications both backend server and audio
• Automation of test cases using various tools
• Document testing activities
• Automate functional test cases
• Analyze and create test plans and scripts
• Support deployment to production
• Contribute to QA specific projects to improve the operation, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Quality Assurance group

Education:

Associate's degree in IT or a related field

 

Experience:

5 years experience in a fast paced Information Technology environment

 

Knowledge, Skill, Abilities:

• An understanding of testing best practices and how to apply them to different situations
• Knowledge and experience in the agile software development lifecycle and how quality assurance and testing fit into it
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with team members to work on projects and issues
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage work load
• Ability to successfully estimate LOE for tasks and meet that timeframe
• 2 years development experience, java a plus
• 2 years hands on experience with linux
• Experience building and executing automated tests
• Prior telecom experience a huge plus
