Application Packaging Engineer (SCCM)

Location: Charlotte, NC

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

 

Job Description:

-Looking for an experience packager with 3-5 years of experience to work on a Windows 7 deployment project to package close to 100 applications
- The candidate will need experience repackaging off the shelf and in-house developed applications into Windows Installer (.msi) on the Windows 7 platform
- Must be familiar with Admin Studio and other application packaging tools
- Must be able to think quickly and create solutions around application packaging process and procedures to guide the customer in the right direction
- Capable of taking on a leadership role in the respective role
- Coordinate with business units to ensure that the application functionality and use is captured in the packaging of the application
- Work with the SCCM team to ensure that packages can be delivered through SCCM
- Remediate applications that do not run on Windows 7 using shims and other technologies
- Understand MSI patches and transforms
- Understand MSI merge modules, macros and custom actions
- Run validation checking understand ICE errors( Internal Consistency Errors)
- Understand security modifications within MSI packages
- Detect and understand conflicts in MSI packages
- Detect and understand ICE errors
- Troubleshoot MSI applications
- Must be able to provide 3rd level support for the installation and the application
