Need for Technical Architect (Data Center), Brooklyn, NY - F2F required

Technical Architect (Data Center)

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Duration: 13+ months

Rate: Open

 

In-person at the client location required – Local or nearby consultants only

 

Skills:

1.      At least 8 years of experience playing lead technical role in successful data center optimization / virtualization / consolidation projects.

2.     Extensive experience with Windows 2003, 2008, Linux, Solaris, ZLinux

3.     Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, Solaris Zones/LDOMS)

4.     Experience with V2V, P2V migration tools (Platespin, VMWare VConverter)

5.     Experience working within MS SQL Server and Oracle database environments

6.     Experience with remote access and file transfer tools such as FTP, SSH, RDP

7.     Knowledge of standard network protocols, load balancing, and firewalls in a CISCO network environment

8.     Extensive experience designing and architecting highly available, secure, scalable hosting infrastructures

9.     Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions and tools, including clustering, load balancing, etc.

10.   Experience with SAN and NAS technologies, CIFS and NFS protocols

11.    ITIL knowledge and experience

12.   Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

13.   Bachelor’s degree in a related IT field

 

Desired:

1.      Experience with design and hosting of ColdFusion, ASP.NET, J2EE, and PHP based application architectures

2.     Experience with Perl, .Net, XML, and Unix shell and Windows scripting

3.     Extensive experience with IIS, Apache, Weblogic, Websphere

4.     Experience with Tivoli/Netcool, BMC Bladelogic, NetIQ AppManager

5.     Prior experience interfacing with executive level management, creating and giving senior level presentations
