Urgent Fiserv/Recon Plus Application Support consultant Need in MA, 8-12 Months

The Sr. Applications Support Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate project management, systems updates and general production support of software application within Upromise Investments. Responsibilities include implementation and upgrade of the various applications including FiServ's ReconPlus and Frontier, day to day production application support, proactive monitoring of necessary files feeds, researching and resolving issues related to the test and production environments, and communicating to internal stakeholders of problems timely and appropriately. This position is also responsible for working closely with the Accounting Operations team to ensure appropriate procedures and controls exist to resolve all out of balance conditions appropriately and timely.   

 

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

·         Perform a review of the existing application infrastructure and recommend changes/upgrades to enhance efficiency and performance.

·         Acts as an escalation point for customer support to diagnose and resolve complex application/systems issues

·         Validate resolution of issues proficiently (i.e. replication of problem reported and solution), and analyze solution for accuracy and completeness.

·         Provide appropriate technical training and knowledge transfer to users

  • Identify settlement discrepancies and out of balance conditions through a variety of application balancing techniques and reconciliation software applications control edits.
  • Alert appropriate management levels, internal departments, and external 3rd parties to all problems and out of balance conditions identified. Follows through on all out of balance conditions to ensure full and timely resolution.
  • Create, prepare and submit various monthly systems reports for application projects, upgrades and system downtime for management review. Compile and categorize data used for monthly operational metrics. 
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve reconciliation application and processes for greater operational efficiency, as well as improvement opportunities for other processing areas to minimize risk. 
  • Work with internal teams including production support
  • Provide troubleshooting support as needed acting as a liaison between  internal departments and third party systems vendor for system and funds flows.

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Education Required: 

o    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology preferred, or equivalent experience.

 

 

  • Experience Required
    • 10 years recent reconciliation experience, banking/financial services industry is a plus.   
    • High level of experience with reconciliation software packages (i.e. Recon Plus, Windows and Frontier).

 

 

 

  • Skills and Knowledge Required: 
    • Previous experience in client-focused environment
    • Excellent project management skills, communication and writing skills

o    Experience supporting applications using ASP.NET, C#, and MS SQL Server

o    Experience with web programming languages, i.e. HTML/CSS/Javascript

    • Demonstrated ability to research and analyze financial data.
    • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues exercising sound judgment, initiative, and strong critical thinking skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with people in various job capacities.  Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in order to maintain established standards.  
    • Experience with Crystal and/or Brio reporting tools a plus.
