Need SCOM Administrator with SQL DBA skills at 45/hr C-C

SCOM /SQL DBA Role – Redmond, WA.  Looking for someone who can split their time between SCOM and supporting our performance database (SPEED).

SCOM Administrator with SQL DBA skills

This resource will:

        Work as member of 9xMonOps team supporting the BPOS-S monitoring infrastructure.

        Ensure monitoring infrastructure is healthy and has sufficient capacity.

        Work with team and manager to define deliverables and schedule to complete.

        Participate in various change, incident and project related meetings as required.

        Deploy management packs, monitoring apps and configuration of synthetic transactions.

        Maintain the SCOM infrastructure and participate in the on-call rotation.

        Be proficient in SCOM admin scripting and leveraging automation to perform daily tasks.

        Understand management pack internals and ensure releases adhere to industry best practices.

        Act as SME for specific area of knowledge, document and share expertise.

        Exhibit urgency and respond to issues in a timely manner.

 

SCOMSkills

·         This role requires SCOM troubleshooting expertise.

·         Ability to run predefined SQL queries and interprets output.

·         Understanding of SCOM performance, components and administration.

·         An in depth understanding and real world experience of IT operations and support.

·         Experience setting up a SCOM infrastructure, agent migration, installing/upgrading etc.

·         Demonstrated trouble-shooting and problem solving skills required.

·         Technical breadth and understanding of the Microsoft platform

·         Experience in operations of a Microsoft centric platform is a must.

·         In depth understanding of hardware architectures.

 

SQL Skills

·         Experience as Production SQL Server DBA.

·         Ability to write TSQL Queries, TSQL Stored procedures

·         Set theory implemented in TSQL

·         Stored procedures use appropriate error handling.

·         OLAP and WMI querying

·         Understand how to create Pivot Tables

·         SAN Storage experience

·         Windows OS and network administration

·         High Availability features (MSCS failover clustering, SQL Server Mirroring, Load balancing)

·         Disaster Recovery features and strategies.

·         Ability to manage Database Backups using TSQL, LiteSpeed, and DPM.

·         Log Shipping, OLAP Server, SSIS packages and SQL Agent

 

Qualifications:

Self-Motivated, resourceful and fast learner.

Experience in enterprise production environments.

Superb verbal and written communication skills.

Previous Microsoft experience is a plus.

MCSE certifications and Keynote would be a plus.
