| Installing and Configuring Microsoft SQL Servers
| - Advanced level in Structured Query Language (SQL) - Familiar with SQL best practices (drive configurations, tempdb settings, file distributions, etc.) - Has knowledge of managing database users and security - Has worked with large (>1TB) databases |
| Performing Database Backup and Recovery Duties
| - This includes understanding different backup types (Full, Differential, Incremental) - Has prior experience in developing backup and recovery procedures - Familiar with Mirroring and Log Shipping |
| Monitoring, Tuning, Optimizing
| - Has prior knowledge in designing and successfully executing maintenance plans - Familiar with index tuning and custom statistics - Advanced knowledge in understanding execution plans and how to optimize queries - Able to identify and mitigate performance bottlenecks - Deep knowledge in partitioned views and table partitioning |
| Other | - Familiar with SSIS and SSAS - Intermediate level of programming in C# - Has basic knowledge of MDX |
