The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with excellent technical and communications skills who has the tenacity to identify and work issues to resolution.
This role is targeted at managing the CET technical landscape, specifically as it pertains to enterprise-scale applications/solutions. The role will design, implement, and operate systems and software architectures that support core organizational functions. This individual will focus on product operability, reliability, and other key operations drivers including high availability, capacity management, performance, usability, problem management, and end to end monitoring; recommending hardware and software configurations and solutions; defining, implementing, improving, and measuring technical and operations systems success metrics; optimizing ongoing technical operations across application teams
Responsibilities:
- Key to the architecture role is depth and breath of knowledge of knowledge the ideal candidate will be able to perform 12 or more of the following responsibilities with minimal guidance.
- Assess business and functional requirements for projects, capacity, systems or services and establish/deliver technical solutions to address
- Conduct and lead design activities including logical network design, server topology, application design, database design, DR/HA design, and environment placement.
- Recommending hardware and software solutions, tools, and utilities; planning upgradeability; documenting system; resolving problems.
- Perform infrastructure capacity planning and ensure system environments are adequately scalable for anticipated growth and availability
- Act as a platform and ecosystem subject matter expert to assist operations organizations during incidents, problem management, and continual improvement activities.
- Define and deliver system and operational requirements including operations roles & responsibilities definition, operations testing, operations training, end to end monitoring, methods & procedures and more
- Establishing and monitoring milestones; communicating essential information; coordinating actions; obtaining expert input; reviewing open issues and action items; contributing information to team meetings, partners, and peer groups to drive efficiency
- Identifying opportunities to leverage solutions across technologies
- Define business and operations systems success metrics; developing and conducting tests of system integration, functional layers, and entire system; fixing problems
- Create sustainable and optimized operational application support models
- Coordinate product selection requirements definition, research technology options to address, establish evaluation criteria, manage evaluation of technologies, make recommendations.
- Interacting with operations personnel to define clear and attainable objectives and timelines for technical implementations.
- Track operational effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy of solutions and improve where appropriate.
- Act as the primary liaison to coordinate all infrastructure and operations tasks in support of new projects and initiatives.
- Define operational standard and best practices and partner with the operations organizations to influence and promote adoption of best practices to improve operational efficiencies.
- Define, deliver, and manage customer experience monitoring capabilities for core applications and services including performance, availability, transactions, and more.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements –
- 10+ years of IT experience with 1+ years of progressive experience as a technology architect
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience,
- Certifications or strong working knowledge in two or more of the following areas: ITIL v3, Six Sigma, ITSM, MOF, MSF
- Additionally the ideal candidate will meet at least 8 of the below requirements.
- Experience designing and delivering comprehensive technical solutions leveraging
- Awareness of various architectural platforms, including J2EE, Microsoft.Net, Oracle, Oracle Applications, SQL Server, Linux, UNIX, Weblogic, and supporting technology stacks, including network
- architecture, hardware (Sun, HP, Dell), databases (Oracle), operating systems (Unix/Linux), toolsets (remote connectivity, monitoring, load/perf testing), storage (SAN, NAS), etc.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering leading class highly available, scalable, sustainable technical solutions.
- Demonstrated experience integrating systems in multi-user, multi-platform environments.
- Experience in various architectural principles and implementation options in various disciplines, including high availability, horizontal/vertical scaling, service-oriented architectures, web services
- Experience designing, delivering, and operating nationally distributed enterprise class systems, services, and environments.
- Ability to analyze, absorb, advocate, and apply rapidly changing technologies and apply them as part of integrated solutions to business requirements.
- Strong system analytical and troubleshooting skills in distributed secure computing environments.
- Ability to implement detailed technology roadmaps.
- Collaborative, imaginative, resourceful, reliable, technically savvy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain a high level of peer trust and confidence.
- Strong consulting skills.
- Ability to participate in and lead multi-disciplinary technical work teams.
