Informatica Lead
Location: Denver, CO
Duration: 9 months
The initial project is 9 months with an option to renew for following year. Below is job description
Require services of a Lead Level Technical Consultant who is an Extract-Translate-Load (ETL) expert well versed in Informatica (version 8.x) to design and build data mappings for Data Warehouse support and enhancements as it relates to the Unified Improvement Planning and Performance Framework reports.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Work with other Information Management Services (IMS) staff to identify data schema updates for the data warehouse.
2. Design, build or enhance Informatica mappings according to standards in support of the annual pre-populated reports as well as the reporting process.
3. Design, build or enhance the reports using Cognos reports.
4. Work closely with end users to identify data sources (as input to the Informatica mappings).
5. Design and develop Oracle views for new applications using new Operational Data Store table structures.
6. Design and develop new Oracle tables to move data from current Oracle Eden Schema into appropriate data warehouse schema tables.
7. Update documentation on Informatica mappings to ensure documentation matches the applications.
8. Maintain the documentation on Informatica standards.
9. Provide knowledge transfer to the current ETL staff to ensure sustainability after this contract is over.
Mandatory Qualifications:
a. Five years experience with Informatica.
b. Five years experience of Oracle.
c. Five years experience working with complex data warehouse design and architecture.
d. One+ years demonstrated experience with relational databases.
e. Two+ years demonstrated experience with data warehouse databases.
f. Demonstrated experience interacting with end users.
g. Candidate must be available for the entire project term
Desired Qualifications
a. Understanding of extensive library of Informatica mappings.
b. Understanding of educational data, including the Colorado Student Growth Model.
c. Knowledge of Cognos (v8).
d. Experience in data governance
e. Experience in developing enterprise data models
f. Should be well versed in data warehouse design.
g. Familiar with structured query language (SQL) and can work with complex queries.
h. Able to translate complex education data into requirements.
i. Familiar with data analysis services, data flow diagramming and data modeling.
j. Candidate to reside within the Denver metropolitan area, or the ability to commute as needed to required work location.
