Recent and extensive Data Warehousing experience are the keys to this position. It is a 6 month contract initially but will probably go much longer.
Job Description:
Information Management Analytical Services has a need for a Business Analyst to assit with the migration effort to move off of the legacy Corporate Data Warehouse and to the Enterprise Data Warehouse. The BA will be working with various business customer to identify business requirements and document the requirements for technical migration to EDW specifically around the Business Intelligence and reporting. Other Responsibilities will include:
• Build and leverage effective alliances across the technical and business communities.
• Assess upstream application projects to determine data warehouse impacts and initiate estimation effort by documenting high level requirements, impacts, and assumptions in the estimation overview document.
• Elicit business and functional requirements from the business group through formal interviews or facilitated sessions. Includes:
o Reviewing existing project documentation
o Determining impacted business users
o Preparing interview materials
o Scheduling interviews/sessions
o Facilitating interviews
• Document requirements in concise, easy to understand documentation, following established standards and templates.
• Assist in the process of developing information or data requirements.
• Assist Project Manager in defining the business scope of the project
• Gain signoff on the finalized requirements from business users and project team members
o Prepare appropriate level presentations to use during review and signoff sessions.
• Ensure all agreed upon in scope requirements are incorporated in the final solution by completing business requirements traceability.
Top 3 Skills (stack ranked) : 1. 6-10 Years of business analysis experience with 3 OR more in a Data Warehouse environment. 2. Good understanding of data warehouse operations AND business intelligence 3. Some level of experience with BI reporting, ie. with Business Objects OR Crystal Reports
