Position: C#.Net/Sitecore Developer

Duration: 6-12 Months

Location: Reston, VA

Description:

Works collaboratively with software engineering team to substantially reskin a production website based on Microsoft technologies: 

oC#.NET 

oIIS

Codes .aspx and .ascx extensions to content management system following guidelines set by Principal Architect 

Builds data mapping/transformation elements as needed 

Constructs HTML for complete pages and for fragments of pages expressing patterns defined in page layout requirements 

Leverages existing CSS style definitions and adds to CSS style definitions as required

Must have experience collaboratively developing Web sites using C#.NET and IIS 

Must have proven ability to design and implement successful solutions 

Must be skilled in interpreting existing code and refactoring it to meet new requirements 

Must work as a team player as a member of dynamic & fast-paced team, and have the ability to handle constant change 

Must have proven ability to work independently, accomplishing tasks with little direct supervision, checking in with engineering leadership when guidance is needed 

Must be resourceful, flexible, and execute with focus and a willing attitude

Required Skills:

Strong skills coding .Net (C# 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 and 4..0) 

Strong skills working with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to render Web pages according to spec 

Competent understanding of cross-browser challenges with experience addressing cross-browser incompatibilities 

Strong skills building object-oriented software solutions using standard design patterns 

Proficiency using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 or 2010

 

Experience required:

Successful experience working with Agile design and implementation best practices 

Ability to design functional user interfaces that address defined end-user usability concerns 

Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to seek and respond to software engineering direction and coaching

 

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a technology/scientific discipline preferred 

Certification in C#.NET preferred 

Experience using commercial Web Content Management (WCM) systems is a big plus

3-5 years building Web front ends using C#.NET
