Front End Developer

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other team members to develop dynamic, interactive websites and software using HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and other related technologies
  • Translate visual designs into completed HTML pages while strictly adhering to design specifications
  • Stay current with emerging front-end technologies and be able to promote their usage on the dailycandy.com site
  • Work closely with back-end developers to ensure the integrity of the UI throughout the development life-cycle
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility
  • Take ownership of code quality and work with our QA department to create tests

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of hand-coded HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DOM
  • Experience in developing standards-based, CSS-driven, table-less layouts
  • Experience using JavaScript libraries to build complex DHTML
  • Understanding of SEO and accessibility issues as they relate to the front-end
  • Strong organizational and estimation skills
  • Heroic get-it-done attitude
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines
  • Experience creating and maintaining table-less layout sites
  • Experience with AJAX
  • Must provide URL or work samples

Bonus Skills:

  • Flash knowledge
  • jQuery experience
  • Graphics manipulation/optimization skills using Photoshop and ImageReady
  • 3+ years of industry experience preferred
