Title            :         Oracle / Sybase Database Admin

Location    :          Atlanta, GA
Duration   :          Long Term Contract

 

Below is the job description for our Sybase DBA role with Norfolk Southern.  The person that was doing this job was promoted and has left an immediate need to backfill his position.  
 
Required
Bachelors in Computer Science/Information Technology – or Equivalent Work Experience
At least four years experience supporting Oracle and Sybase databases
Experience in supporting time-sensitive, mission-critical Database Systems
Excellent problem solving ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to foster team coordination and collaboration
Strong SQL Skills
Clear Understanding of Database Design, Referential Integrity, and Application-Development Life Cycle
 
Preferred
Sybase replication
Professional certifications in Oracle and Sybase Database Administration
Knowledge of AIX, Linux, SAN, TSM, TOAD, and HP Service Manager
Experience with other relational databases (DB2 LUW, MS SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
