Title:  Cognos Developer

Location: Minnesota

Duration: 6 Months

Job Description:

5 - 6 years experience implementing enterprise-scale reporting systems using Cognos suite of BI tools, Report Studio, Framework Manager and Dashboards, etc.  At least 6 months of practical experience with C10 preferred.

Reviews and/or creates functional requirements and technical specifications

Must have expertise in Oracle and have the ability to write complex SQL queries, develop DDL scripts, and perform limited data warehouse maintenance in a development environment.

Expertise with Cognos Series 10, Framework Manager modeling, Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, etc.

Ability to create and publish packages/multidimensional models using Framework Manager from multiple data sources

Ability to perform data modeling and query tuning in Framework Manager and Report Studio to achieve maximum performance while retrieving data from multiple data sources

Ability to develop complex Report Studio/ Analysis Studio reports involving drill up, drill down and master/detail queries, and drill through

Experience creating scorecards as well as dashboard reports for executive audience

Must provide production support and train end users in Cognos Series 10 (Report Studio, Analysis Studio)

Will provide support in promoting TM1 cubes and reports into production environment

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills        

Manage security (packages, folders, etc.)

 

POSITION PREFERENCES:

Expertise using IBM DataStage to build and manage data warehouse

Expertise developing and deploying Cognos Metric Studio applications

Experience working with TM1 application development and deployment in the financial function

Experience managing support issues related to Cognos applications, and ability to perform Cognos administrative functions in C10

Experience implementing Cognos Go Mobile – mobile applications on Apple devices (iPad)

Description:

Seeking a self starter with the ability to design, develop and implement a wide range of Cognos solutions.  Candidate will be involved in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from evaluation, development and installation of end user reports, dashboards, and other BI solutions.

In this position you will work on development and support issues of moderate/high complexity or risk, including creation of tables, views, stored procedures and queries for reporting using Oracle 10g.  Must be able to work independently or as part of a team with business users, analysts, developers and database administrators toward the design and development of optimal BI solutions.  Must possess and demonstrate strong customer service skills in dealing with day to day support issues.
