WebSphere Administrator

This position is for a Consultant to work in the MCS Middleware/Infrastructure team.
·  The candidate must have experience in management of H/W, S/W, Application servers, Web Servers, Middleware products and CA Wily Monitoring.
·  Perform Websphere Application Server and MQ Administration, DataGrid, IBM Datapower, UNIX shell scripting, Middleware instrumentation, Infrastructure monitoring and alarming, J2EE, Web services and XML Schema Specification definition.
·  Installation, configuration and administration of application servers and Webservers that host intranet / internet facing Java / J2EE applications Server setup and mgmt, Infrastructure and Environment migrations.
·  Performance tuning of J2EE applications and servers, Capacity management for organic and inorganic growth, and Fault/Trouble mgmt.
·  Support ongoing Production and non-production application environments and upcoming projects.
·  Management of critical systems / systems processes and problem resolution /escalations of data networking and system management issues.
·  Coordination of infrastructure needs and requests across Network, SA, Data Center, Security teams.
·  Prior experience in leading/participating in the evaluation, recommendation and selection of hardware and software solutions based on industry trends.
·  Solid interpersonal/communication skills and leadership abilities regularly lead other team members in project activities. Work closely with analysts, developers, quality assurance and production support team members to align projects and orchestrate resolutions on open issues/defects.
·  Might also need to perform project management activities such as planning, sizing, scheduling, including implementation activities for the infrastructure team.
·  Ensures systems implementations occur in accordance with established Change Control procedures.
·  Proactively communicates status reports and report issues to manager with a game plan of resolution.
·  Measuring/Monitoring KPI's and metrics for our applications and infrastructure.
·  Provide solutions that meet security compliance and also demonstrate reusability, scalability and Open Architecture standards.
·  Interact with business, marketing, requirements, development, QA, data center, network, vendors and other IT team to demonstrate and educate the integration points for other IT applications.
·  Provides technical and production support on an on-call basis
