Job Description:
1) Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Science, with a concentration in Computer Science or related discipline.
2) Six years demonstrated experience using the SQL programming language in an application development environment.
3) Six years demonstrated experience in programming and application development using Visual Basic and Visual Basic.NET.
4) Six years demonstrated experience with MS SQL Server.
5) Six years demonstrated experience in system and application development.
6) Effective verbal and written communication skills.
7) Strong planning and organizational skills.
8) The ability to work independently.
9) Must have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player.
Preferred Skills:
1) Teradata experience
2) Data analysis in a Health Care environment
3) Business application development in a Health Care environment
Additional Skills:
1) Minimum 4 years of experience in design, develop, test, implement and support of data warehousing applications
2) Minimum 3 years of experience designing 3-NF data models and data warehouses; demonstrated expertise in data modeling, data architecture standards, and best
practices.
3) Experience in translating business and functional requirements into logical data models.
4) Working knowledge of ETL technologies and associated implementation methodologies.
5) Expertise in data warehousing techniques for Data Profiling, Change Data Capture, Data Cleansing
6) Solid understanding of relational database concepts, SQL and procedural SQL in Teradata
7) Strong SQL programming skills, including the ability to write complex subqueries
8) Ability to analyze skew and spool issues, collect stats, work with primary index, compression, partitions.
9) Recognizing/enforcing true business primary keys (effective time periods, etc.)
10) Join strategies/optimization during times of minimal Teradata resource availability
11) Manipulating large volumes of data (500M+ rows) with minimal Teradata resource availability
12) Programming/scripting skills to include design flexibility
