QA Tester with Healthcare Claims exp - NYC

Responsibilities:

· Coordinate system test activities with the business and development teams.

· Work closely with Developers and Business Analysts to ensure features/products achieve desired level of quality. Influence the inclusion of testability during design and development phases.

· Review business requirements and design specifications to identify gaps and ensure documented business requirements are clear, consistent and testable.

· Develop and execute test plans and test cases as well as report test results following defined standards and processes..

· Accountable for timeliness and quality delivery of all technical deliverables including test cases, test reports, requirements traceability documents, functional readiness matrices, and test summary reports.

· Mange the handling of Production Support Issues. Understand the issue, schedule for resolution, work with relevant teams for fixing, test and resolve the issue meeting the set SLAs for resolution.

· Communicate efficiently with developers in order to fix issues.

· Work with cross functional teams, multiple projects, production issues

Experience:
Technical
• Manual Testing
• Very Strong SQL and analytical skills
• Data Analysis and mining skills
• Understanding of Web Services, WS testing, and test tools such as ServiceTest and SoapUI.
• MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for other documentation-related activities

 

Non-Technical

· Experience in Health Information Systems and Medical Claims (Nice to have).

· 5-7 years QA Experience

· Experience with metrics definition and measurements of quality

· Must have great analytical and troubleshooting skills.

· Must thrive in a dynamic work environment.

· Four year college degree with engineering background (preferably in Computer Science) or equivalent experience

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent time management and prioritization skills

· Ability to concisely document defects and test results

· Solid understanding of QA best practices

 

In addition:

· Solid understanding of TLC and SDLC

· Proficiency in writing comprehensive test cases, test strategy documents.

· Ability to derive text metrics and prepare Test Summary Report

· Proficiency in writing complex sql queries (Oracle db)

· Excellent verbal/communication and writing skills

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize

· Adapt with ease to constantly changing priorities in a fast paced environment

· Self-starter, highly organized and motivated

· Excellent time management skills

· Excellent analytical skills

· Accurate in providing timely feedback on the tasks complete

· Ability to identify risks, perform risk based testing

· Take pro-active approach toward testing
