Sr Business Analyst - with HP PPM Expertise

Location: Culver City, CA

Duration: 4+ months

 

 

Job Description

·         The Senior Business Analyst in IT serves as a primary interface to the business users, with the guidance from a business relationship manager to assist the BRM teams in understanding the business processes, workflows, and information requirements of the users. The Senior Business Analyst will primarily serve in the support of the HP PPM application with the application's future roadmap strategy as well as the requirements analysis and testing processes for enhancements and projects.

·         Responsibilities include the following:

·         Collect, review, analyze, manage, system and user requirements from business users

·         Work with the business & technical teams to clarify functional requirements.

·         Document detailed proposals, functional & data business requirements, process flows, use cases, information needs, test scenarios, and obtain functional design specification approvals.

·         Manage the UAT process by performing smoke testing, test case validation, and obtaining business approvals on UAT for scheduled deployments

·         Ensures delivery of project and enhancement requirements meet the requirements defined by the business customer

·         Accountable for ensuring training needs are met for new or existing functions

 

Day to Day activities:

·         The primary application supported will be HP PPM (project and portfolio management)

·         The Sr. BA will be responsible for managing enhancement requests, projects (new module build outs) and overall stakeholder management.  The PPM tool is used by primarily by the PMO, IT Finance, Resourcing groups within the organization and managing demand and prioritization is critical

 

Required Skills

Skills:

·         Proficient in developing requirements definition, functional specifications, test scenarios/scripts, data models and business procedures.

·         Strong process flow and diagramming skills (visio application)

·         Ability to facilitate a business requirements and design review session with customers

·         Exposure to managing the testing disciplines (use of quality center tool)

·         Creation and delivery of training materials

·         Extremely organized with the ability to manage a demand queue, plan, etc.

·         Strong interpersonal, relationship management, and negotiation skills.

·         Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

·         Strong communication skills - verbal, written, listening and presentation.

 

Required Experience

Knowledge:

·         Expertise in the HP PPM application including knowledge of its various modules for analysis and design in existing functionality and future roadmap strategy

·         Experience gathering requirements for complex enhancements and business requirements is required

·         Understanding of SDLC (software delivery lifecycle) and project management fundamentals

·         Process flow mapping, data conversion and interface design

·         Good understanding of entertainment industry and the role that IT plays in the industry
