Role: Fatwire Consultant
Duration: 6 months
Location: Chicago, IL
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Works with a team of peers to architect, design and implement planned and unplanned products in support of strategic business and IT initiatives
· Participates in peer review sessions throughout design and development phases for multiple projects at any given time
· Aggressively and proactively tests software throughout development cycles; inclusive of functional/unit-testing and performance testing
· Documents design, deliverables, source, and release notes in the interest of supporting future development and operations staff
· Assists Quality Assurance engineers in issue identification, isolation, and remediation issues during formal QA cycles
· Continuously improves, refines, and refactors software
· Participates in the resolution of challenging and demanding problems across a number of technical topographies
· Ongoing product support and maintenance
· performance tuning work on fatwire server
Knowledge & Experience:
· 8+ years of Java enterprise programming, with at least 4+ years working on FatWire products
· Has done Design of Assets Model and Templates
· Experience with Realtime publishing and Workflows in FatWire version 7.6
· Experience in creating customized Attribute Editors, Flex Filters and Listeners
· Has implemented URL assemblers and is familiar with SEO concepts
· Comfortable with tuning configuration, installation of Content/Satellite Servers and usage of tools like - SupportTools, XML Post, Content Server Explorer
· Good experience on FatWire caching concepts
· Good Knowledge in Web/App/DB servers
· Understands, articulates, and conforms to core OOP principles
· Understands, utilizes, and leverages core Java architecture
· A commitment to developing solid, tested, performance software
· Comfortable offering input across requirements phases and distilling the product into fine-grained deliverables
· Excellent problem solving skills and troubleshooting skills. Must be able to quickly assess problems and determine proper steps to resolution.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to work well with a wide variety of people with varying technical skill sets and business knowledge is required.
· Experience working within/constructing service oriented architectures is a plus
· Experience with running Tomcat & Apache in a clustered production environment
