Mainframe Developer

Job Description:
· Recognized expert in IT field.
· Ten or more years of technical experience providing internal/external consulting services to management and technical staff in solving complex information issues.
· Requires competence in field of expertise, such as technology assessment, feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses, hardware and software evaluation, developing IS standards and methodologies, and business process re-engineering.
· Possesses knowledge of the state-of-the-art in information technology and systems management. Current use of mainframe programming languages, and other bank utilities/tools.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of structured project methodology a must.
· Strong attention to detail with outstanding problem solving skills.
· The ability to organize multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Analytical ability.
· Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain, support, tune, enhance the Experian mainframe environments.
· Monitor the performance of the mainframe environments and take proactive actions to avert potential problems.
· Diagnose and resolve mainframe system problems.
· Assist application teams to resolve application related issues.
· Provide SME support and consultancy to operations staff , application and technical teams.
· Install and maintain mainframe software.
· Plan, schedule and manage all assigned tasks and projects.
· Provide 24 X 7 Oncall Support on a rotational basis.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
· Significant z/OS mainframe systems programmer experience.
· Ability to interface and collaborate with internal and external customers, cross-functional teams, management, and vendors to design solutions, resolve problems, and meet strategic business needs.
· Ability to multitask in a fast paced, highly complex mainframe environment.
· Able to work under pressure to resolve complex z/OS system problems in a timely fashion.
· Working knowledge of mainframe hardware configuration
· Working knowledge of IBM's Workload Manager tool
· Working knowledge of z/VM and Linux on z/Series would be advantageous
· Working knowledge of SMP/E
