Job Title: Build&Release Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6+ Months
Required Skills:
Experience implementing best practices in build and release management, build automation and continuous integration.
Experience with Java-based, build automation on Windows.
3+ years of strong experience in writing scripts using Ant and Maven
Working knowledge of programming languages Java.
Experience creating and maintaining build scripts and processes for full as well as incremental builds.
Mastery of source control tools, specifically Subversion.
Hands-on, expert-level experience administering and configuring Subversion and Subversion mirroring.
Experience with Continuous Build and Integration tools such as Hudson/Jenkins, Cruise Control.
Hands-on experience in configuring and upgrading technologies including:
Build Tools (ant, maven)
CI Tools (Hudson/Jenkins CruiseControl)
Defect tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla)
Wikis (SharePoint)
Test Management
QA Experience and knowledge including automated test development
Must be detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
Responsibilities:
Modernize, design, build and develop a modern, automated, build and release management system.
Define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing and release management.
Develop and maintain documentation of the build/release process.
Design policies for managing source code, including branching, merging and tagging policies to support parallel development.
Providing automation and instrumentation to improve productivity, reduce risk and achieve scalability requirements.
Work with other QA team members to automate test cases and provide scripting assistance as necessary to speed up build verifications.
Primary owner of build and release tools and processes.
