Position: Cognos Developer/Admin
Location: Houston, TX 
Duration : 6 to 8 months
 
Number of positions: 3. 
 
I need an additional person with Cognos BI/EP administration skills
 
4 + years' experience working with Cognos Report Studio, Analysis studio, Query Studio, scheduling reports, creating drill through and bursting reports, charts, etc.
Extensive experience in development, care, and maintenance of logical and physical data models, along with corresponding metadata  for various clients and BI report writing using IBM Cognos 8/Cognos 10.
Oracle, Sql Server  and DB2 databases with  experience in transforming use cases into database designs, identifying facts and dimensions, denormalizing and summarizing data
Ability to talk to Business to get the requirements or clear out some of the vague requirements.
Must have excellent written and verbal skills, experience working directly with end users, and the ability to work independently. Prior experience with multidimensional reporting and dashboards is required.
Ability to work in a face paced and dynamic work environment, where an agile, proof of concept approach to reporting is required.
Ability to collaborate with a diverse set of business customers and drive consensus when conflicting requirements are identified.
Experience with low-level ad-hoc query tools (Toad, SQLPlus, SSMS) and a detailed working knowledge SQL queries.
Strong knowledge of System Development Life Cycle
Experience in conducting requirements gathering sessions and brainstorming workshops.
Enthusiastic, motivated, and curious about learning the business.
 
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Financial services industry or business line experience
Cognos 10 / Business Insight
Framework Manager
Exposure to ETL tools
SQL Server, AS/400, DB2, Oracle
