Title: Visual Basic Developer

Location: Vacaville CA

Duration: 6 + Months

 

Tasks

The Consultant tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

•        Analyze of system design problems and suggest alternative designs/solutions

•        Develop project plans with detailed tasks as requested by the manager

•        Gather business requirements and/or bug fixes from the user community

•        Convert the user requirements into functional and technical specifications

•        Code programs as per the technical specifications and unit testing

•        Document programming work effectively with process flow diagrams

•        Provide Production Support as needed or required

•        Work independently, as a member of a team or as a lead of a team as required by Client

•        Perform approved maintenance to continue business viability of the mainframe applications

•        Diagnose and repair production application program problems (or create enhancements)

•        Follow internal SDLC methodologies in the creation of test plans

 

Experience, Knowledge Level, and Technical Skills

The Consultant resource shall possess most of the following technical knowledge and experience:

•        Project Management & team leadership- team building and leading; communication and presentation skills, SDLC, MS Office applications including Project and Visio

•        Operating systems: HP-UNIX, Windows Server, Windows Workstation

•        RDBMS- Oracle 9i and 10i

•        Tools/Utilities- PeopleSoft Helpdesk and Quality Management Modules, ClearCase, DB2 Connect, ODBC

•        Languages:  VB6, VBA, XML, PL-SQL, SQL

•        Enterprise applications:  Insurance, Financial, Inventory, Billing, Customer Relations Management, Order Processing
