Short Description: The State of New Jersey, Office of Information is looking for a highly skilled Microsoft Exchange Engineer & Solution Architect to lead a large Enterprise build-out, deployment and migration of their email messaging platforms to Microsoft Exchange 2010. | Complete Description: The Architecture and Design for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 solution is to help the state assess: • Environmental, including hardware and software requirements for the migration • Vision scope, with technical and business requirements and conceptual architecture • Functional specifications, with details of Exchange Server 2010 architecture and design • High-level documentation and knowledge transfer workshops for state employees • Industry leading integration and migration methodologies for business continuity • Build a secure and reliable email messaging solution on Microsoft Exchange 2010 platform • Build a flexible messaging strategy that can scale with the organization without any negative performance impact • Design a cost effective solution for email retention and e-discovery, including archiving and journaling; leveraging existing technology, where feasible • Make messaging technology easy and accessible without overspending • Reduce chances of costly rework through world class design services • Explore and recommend alternate solutions such as the Cloud hosting either as an add-on solution or a future road-map or perhaps a hybrid solution to an in-state hosted enterprise architecture • Lay the groundwork for a sophisticated yet affordable unified communications solution • Recommend resource requirements to support new enterprise architecture for day-to-day administration Responsibilities: • The candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and proven track record of migrations in complex environments and have a solid command of Microsoft Exchange and associated services including: writing technical documentation and migration plans. • The candidate is expected to possess strong communication skills and must be prepared to support meetings, writing presentations and answering questions posed by technical staff and OIT management. The candidate will participate in all areas of the service lifecycle to drive operational efficiencies and ensure production systems are engineered for high-availability and operational stability based on industry standards. • The Consultant will be responsible for a cohesive design and architecture for a two-site High Availability data center solution which will include development of design documents and policies/procedures documentation • Responsible for Planning, testing, tuning, configuring and setting up of Microsoft Exchange 2010 enterprise architecture, working with the support team • Identify and recommend emerging technology trends and develop alternatives with respect to hardware and software architecture • Conduct capacity planning studies of storage, server hardware and software, analyze data and develop hardware/software capacity requirements, alternatives and recommendations • Assist state agencies to migrate from various messaging platforms to Microsoft Exchange 2010; modify an existing template for migration • Must have world class communication skills and superb visual and writing skills – able to delineate concise and structured recommendations for total solutions as well as simplifying systems architecture • Dynamic and engaging presentation style that commands respect, inspires confidence and earns trust • Recommends alternatives in addition to system design and workflows to improve quality, efficiency of systems and service delivery • Work with state business and technical staff to implement solution and facilitate the necessary training and knowledge transfer for day-to-day operations, procedures and administration in managing the enterprise solution • The candidate will be required to work with OIT Project Manager and business units to ensure smooth migration engagements and solution delivery • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage time well and achieve targeted objectives • The candidate must be able to ramp up quickly in a fast-paced environment. Technical Qualification and Required Skills • Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010 Architecture and Migration • 10+ years of direct experience; 15+ years related experience • Critical ability to follow industry trends and plan for future technology • Microsoft Certified IT Professional and/or MCSE is preferred • Bachelor’s degree in a related field • Strong Project management with emphasis on Novell GroupWise, Exchange 2003/2007 to Microsoft Exchange 2010 Migration • At least 8 years of supporting Windows Active Directory in a single and multi-forest domains • Strong knowledge of users and mailbox provisioning tools across single or multi-forest domains • Must have expert knowledge of Systems Operations and Network Management • Should have strong understanding of network systems security, SAN operations and Virtualization (Hyper-V preferred) • Certified Microsoft Exchange Engineer and Solutions Architect in the VMware and/or Virtualization products • Strong Knowledge of Routers, switches, firewall and other security technologies are essential • Must have experience in design and architecture of Windows based solutions such as MS Exchange and Microsoft Active Directory • Must have strong technical knowledge of Cloud architectures including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS • Strong knowledge of DAG • Strong knowledge of CAS • Strong knowledge of Load Balancing and replication technologies • Experience in Microsoft 2000/2003/2008 server, Exchange, Active Directory, and VMware ESX environment • Experience with a variety of hardware platforms including HP, IBM, Dell and Cisco UCS server technologies • Knowledge of Hitachi SAN will be a plus • Strong knowledge of SharePoint will be a plus • Vast Knowledge in Mailbox/SMTP/DNS/Hub/CAS/Transport protocols | | | |
