Senior Java Architect/Lead  -- 3 openings

Contract/Full Time

Cupertino, CA

 

We are looking for a Senior Java Architect/lead who can take ownership of large sized complex java based product development. Ideal candidates will have more than ten years of professional software development experience designing database-driven, iOS-based systems in a Linux environment. The person should have good experience in all different development stages of a product that has gone live. Experience and expertise in resolving critical production issues is desired.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the development team to design services and APIs to support our core services
• Architect and oversee multiple modules of a Java based Point of Sale system

• Work with client product team to expand their business to new geographic locations.
•  Take up technical ownership of large sized product development.
• Interaction with business teams to capture and finalize requirements.

•  Guide, lead and work with technical teams to understand, architect and design product extension for new geographies

• Contributing domain-specific expertise by reviewing code, reviewing design docs, and mentoring junior members of the team

Qualifications:

• 10+  years of professional software development experience in developing Java based  systems in a Linux environment
• Product design and development experience   
• Great communication skills is required
• Need to be good in algorithm design so that performance issues are taken care
• Good knowledge of DB schema design ( again performance related)
• Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills to resolve issues from production deployment.
• Good technical skills on Java / J2EE, Restlet based REST web services, Tomcat, JBoss, XML, JAXB
• Skills on PL/SQL, Maven, and Subversion desired
• Exposure to iOS, Objective C, Oracle is a plus
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, performance and caching.
