SQL Server DBA
Category: Development
Location/City : MO - Kansas City
Duration: 6-12 months
This is a six to twelve month engagement where the selected resource will be accountable for designing, building, implementing, and maintaining database structures, ensuring service levels are maintained, and resolving in a timely manner.?
Role:
- Establish and build a secure database environment which meets service level agreements
- Work with application developers, users and data team to meet corporate service level goals
- Assist developers in creating physical database designs
- Perform enterprise and project data modeling.
- Work with management to implement a strategic database architecture direction
- Use tools and design techniques to ensure database architecture meets established corporate service levels
- Examine ways to continuously improve processes, architecture, and database designs to improve service levels
- Develop recommendations for database standards
- Participate in on call rotation.
SQL Server DBA Qualifications
Candidates should have at least 5 years experience with SQL Server 2005/2008 including:
- Database design including general knowledge of data modeling concepts and techniques
- Database utilities, tuning & performance.
- Change & migration, Backup and recovery & security.
- A working knowledge of DB2/LUW.
Preferred skills
- Experience with a data modeling product (ERwin, Enterprise Architect, etc
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, or SQL Server Analysis Services
- Data warehouse design, ETL knowledge, and data replication
- Working knowledge of the Linux operating system
