Job Title: QA Manual and Automation Test Engineers
 
 
Job Summary:
Performs technical testing of core  applications. Develop data automation scripts and implement them successfully in system test. Responsible to maintain the tools and processes used for test management by  QA team, QC, QTP. Responsible for verifying test results and facilitating resolution of testing issues.  Contributes to and monitors stress and performance testing, and document the results. Interprets both technical and functional testing requirements. Configure tools for metrics collection and send test metrics. Leads testers and developers on QC / Test standards.
 
Job Responsibilities
Plans and conducts testing on semi-complex apps and new technologies, ensuring overall product quality.  Verifies testing results.  Reviews the test scripts covering integration of applications between various  systems.  Develops test plans and designs test scripts, scenarios and conditions for systems testing. Reviews technical and functional requirements of project.
Contributes to test management and is accountable for reaching the planned goals for test execution.  Contributes to the quality evaluation of vendor software, and provides report covering any issues discovered and how they may be remedied.  Validates traceability of system requirements to test conditions and scripts
Contributes to Test strategy session with functional users and development teams; independently develops test strategy plans for each release, in which high level estimates of the time, resources, level of analysis and number of scripts are projected.  Decides on the testing tools strategy.  Develops and utilizes test metrics.  Decides on the test environment and ensure proper test set-up.  Determines what should be tested and how it should be tested.
Ensures Quality Center (tool for test management) is equipped with project test documents and project plan for metrics.  Responsible to send test metrics for  QA team. Reviews test documents to ensure documents conform to  test standards
Define and maintain the system test environment requirements/configuration for the release, reaching across the project teams to ensure successful testing of all the projects on time.
Determines resolution of defects and deviations information for trending and process improvement.  Manages resolution of quality defects.
Tracks test region downtime accurately daily during test execution.  Identifies quality related product risks.  .Audits project deliverables against published standards. Conducts project technical walk-through and takes note of any concerns raised and identify resolutions.
Performs stress, performance and back-end testing, including SQL and Batch. Collects data points, as necessary, during testing. Reviews technical test requirements and prepares test scripts, performs/conducts performance testing.
Validates sub-contracted (on-shore/off-shore) work for quality.  Reviews vendor software upgrades and its effect on department systems. Reviews work of QA Technicians
Keeps current on industry quality control best practices, and mentors Developers on QC & test standards.  Also mentors first level QC Technicians
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences discipline, such as IS, IT or Software Engineering and at least 4 years experience in application development and testing
Experience with test management (including: organization, planning, authoring, execution, and reporting)
At least 2 years experience with Testing, such as Standard test tools, testing processes, test types (unit, load, integration, system, regression, stress and performance testing)
At least 2 years experience in programming with programs such as shell scripts, SQL, batch
Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify areas of opportunity and to drive improvement of results
Basic level skill in Microsoft Office 2003: Word (creating documents, entering and formatting text, page layouts, creating tables, and adding graphics), Excel (creating worksheets, entering data, creating basic formulas, working with cells and rows) and PowerPoint  (creating a new presentation from a design template, adding and removing slides, entering and formatting text, adding speaker notes, and viewing presentations).
