Sybase DBA

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration: 6 Months

 

Job Description/Skills Required:

·         Expertise in creating and upgrading UniVerse databases

·         In Depth knowledge of UniVerse databases backup and recovery

·         UV/BASIC Programming

·         Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly; document issues from production problems, propose solutions and implement them.

·         Working Knowledge of Linux operating systems and shell scripting

·         Index Management ,Index reorganization

·         Strong understanding of database structures, data warehouse concepts, practices, methodologies, and architectural approaches.

·         Knowledge of DW Design (MPP architecture) and its impact on performance.

·         Experience with ETL Tools such as Informatica, DMExpress, SyncSort, Pervasive Data Integrator, SSIS is a plus.

·         Develop, document, and manage data warehouse maintenance processes and procedures.

·         Must have experience in supporting OLAP / BI-DW workloads in a multi-Terabyte

·         Primarily role is supporting the production and development of universe databases

·         Provide on call support for databases

·         Transition new databases/project rollouts from development team to Production support

·         Provide inputs for capacity management

·         Provide L3 escalation support
