 NEED SQL SERVER DBA

 

Location: Nashville,TN/Atlanta,GA

Duration: 3 Months
Rate: $45/hr C2C All Inclusive

 

 

                                                                         Must be USC/GC

MUST: 

3-5  years of SQL Server Database management experience is required.

3-6  Extensive experience in SQL Server installation and administration on SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008.

·Experience with Transactional and Snapshot Replication as well as log shipping

·Experience with Veritas Storage Foundation and Veritas Clustering

·Candidate must be proficient in SQL Server 2005 T-SQL. Including, but not limited to, stored procedures, triggers, functions, indexes and ACID properties.

·Thorough understanding of optimization, performance tuning, SQL profiler

·Solid understanding of SQL Server security administration

·Experience and understanding of DTS/SSIS packages.

·Knowledge of server hardware and Windows Server

·PostgreSQL, MySQL and PowerShell skills a plus

·Must be detailed oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

PLUS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems preferred.

· SSAS, SSRS and SAN skills a plus

 

D2D:

·Responsible for management, tuning, and performance monitoring of SQL Server databases. Includes consideration for optimization of server and storage utilization, consolidation of licenses, high availability and disaster tolerance. Provides tools and techniques for Operations staff to maximize effectiveness of reporting databases. Performs routine space and consistency checks, and manages SQL security.

·Responsible for deploying and/or migrating SQL Server databases.  Includes project planning and design considerations, existing SQL Server cataloguing, deployment and migration execution, and product release notes SQL code reviews.

·Ensure availability and performance of databases that support Line of Business systems across the enterprise.​

·Create and maintain SQL Server maintenance plans (for backup/​recovery/​optimization) and proactively monitor SQL Servers to ensure secure database services with minimum downtime.​

·Respond quickly and effectively to production SQL Server environment issues and take responsibility for seeing those issues through to resolution.​ Issues might occur during or after normal business hours.​

·Plan for and install SQL Server and required Updates, Service Packs, Patches, and Hot Fixes to SQL Server environments.

·Work with the team to review existing and new database architectures, security settings and stored procedures to identify potential performance and security risks.​ Assist in planning of strategies and perform implementation to eliminate any such risks that are discovered.​

·Work with engineering team to develop database standards and best practices guidelines for SQL Server environment.​

·Develop and maintain documentation describing new and existing SQL Server Environments

·Work with global team to support international operations, participating in on-call responsibilities in dynamic environment

·Provides support for various SQL and Veritas software issues fielded by Service Desk and Operations.

·Provides quality customer service through ongoing communication, feedback, and follow-through.

·Able to identify complex problems, their probable causes, their impact on operations, and report them to the appropriate parties, offer possible solutions, and decide on the optimal course of action.

·Participates in committees, task forces, and teams as needed.

·Ability to interact with people from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy.

·Self motivated, independent and possesses ability to learn quickly.
