Position :  Sr. Cognos Administrator

LOCATION: Addison, IL

 

client is looking for a Sr. Cognos/Report Net Administrator and Developer. 

 Qualified individuals are required to possess both the administrator and developer skill sets. 
They should also be able to work independently and able to adhere to a fast-paced and a deadline driven environment.

Responsibilities:
Administrator:
Performance tuning of the Cognos 8 servers; 
Installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the Cognos 8 BI suite; 
Capacity planning; configuration strategies for maximizing performance and failover; planning and performing upgrades to the Cognos 8 
BI suite; 
Identifying outstanding risks and mitigation options; 

Developer:
Designing, developing and maintaining complex Cognos 8 metadata and reporting structures; 
Work with users to define reporting requirements and build a workable solution to meet the business User*s needs.
Managing deliverables for data warehousing tasks; 
Performing analysis, design and development tasks for data warehousing application development; 
Unit testing Cognos reporting/analytics to ensure it can be delivered and run in a system testing environment.

Requirements include:
At least 5 years of experience in the role of Cognos Developer/Administrator
Additional background in Oracle Database 11g 
Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
B.S. Degree preferred.
Must be able to work independently
Must be able to work swiftly in a deadline oriented environment
