Role Description

Prepares data quality analysis (DQA) artifacts, including recommendations and data profiles used in the analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate. Ensures quality control of databases through the development and maintenance of test plans and quality control procedures and may assist in development and implementation of measurement systems.

This position will be responsible for Data Analysis activities to support Data Warehouse projects. The candidate will be required to discover, analyze, profile and document findings on source data systems. Candidate will assist development team during the dev phase to resolve data issues and understand data constraints. Once development activities are completed the candidate will drive the initial system testing of the final application data output to ensure it is consistent with the source data system.

The ideal candidate will be a self starting individual who is able to drive into details and quickly provide summary level readouts of the source data. The position requires very strong communication skills as the candidate will be required to interact on a daily basis with all levels within the organization, including developers, architects, business users and management.

Candidate will be expected to proactively drive to improve processes and methods around Data Analysis. This could include helping define standards and procedures; refining methods and techniques for information modeling, recommend tools to improve delivery timeframes.

Education and Experience  

Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience is required. Must have at least five years of experience working within an IT department, preferably within a Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence Team.

 Skills and Qualifications  

 The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data analysis and profiling tools.

Strong SQL skills are a must. Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, Teradata and Netezza are highly desired.

 

·         Experience working within the Telco/Cable/Satellite industry a definite plus.

·         Exposure to Data Warehouse tools such as Hyperion, OBIEE and Informatica a plus.
