Position: Cognos Report Developer/Analyst

Location: Columbus, OH

Duration: 6 Months

This other position we have open will need to have hands on experience in Cognos 10, good communication skills, experience working on as business analyst. This position is more like a spokesperson for the Cognos team.  It is essential that communication skills are impeccable

 

Must to Haves:

•         Create and Maintain Cognos Framework

•         3+ years of Cognos development experience

•         Expertise with Cognos Series 8

•         Strong SQL Skills – Pulling data from SQL, Writing Queries, basic understanding of SQL coding (Inner & Outer Joins, etc.)

•         Manual Database Testing

 

Nice to Haves:

•         Cognos Series 10 Experience

•         Develop and build OLAP cubes using Cognos PowerPlay Transformer

•         IBM Cognos TM1 (formerly Applix TM1) is enterprise planning software used to implement collaborative planning, budgeting and forecasting solutions, as well as analytical and reporting applications. (e.g. workflow, top-down adjustments).

•         Dash Boarding Experience

 

Responsibilities

•         Create and maintain Cognos framework

•         3+ years of Cognos development experience

•         3+ Years Relational database experience

•         Follow Report Development Life Cycle through Production

•         Knowledge of data warehouse principles

•         Expertise with Cognos Series 8, Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Event Studio

•         Perform query tuning using RS to achieve maximum performance

•         Develop complex Report Studio reports involving drill up, drill down and master/detail queries

•         Extensive experience creating and debugging stored procedures using Oracle PL/SQL

•         Experience with Cognos 10 is a plus

•         Develop and build OLAP cubes using Cognos PowerPlay Transformer

 

Qualifications

•         Bachelor’s degree required

•         4 + yrs IT experience and experience in Cognos BI

•         4-5 yrs experience with Report Studio, minimum considered, 2 yrs.

•         Experience with SQL programming

•         Experience taking IT projects from start through completion

•         Must have Excellent communication and analysis skills
