Subject: EDW-Kimball Architect/Designers
Location: WA State
Duration: 12 months - extension possible
Extensive experience with the following:
· EDW-Kimball Architect/Designer with 10 or more years IT industry experience.
· Successfully created at least three (3) complex enterprise data warehousing solutions using the Kimball methodology.
· Expert experience architecting enterprise data warehouse solutions. Experience in multi-server environment with both virtual and physical servers.
· Expert knowledge of Extract Transform and Load (ETL) development, architecture and design; knowledge of functions and limitations of Enterprise Architecture Integration (EAI) messaging.
· Strong Microsoft SQL Server database development skills, SQL language expert.
· Power Designer or Case tool experience to document and create Kimball schemas.
· 5 or more years of Data Integration, Business Intelligence, and Data Warehousing experience.
· Expert level experience in data analysis and creating Kimball Fact Dimensional schemas (5 years).
· Created and maintained data mart models, entity relationships diagrams and other forms of documentation in support of business requirements; Presented and confirmed analysis session findings; Reviewed, tested and validated the data models - Surrogate keys, Slowly changing dimensions (Type 1, 2, & 3), Dates, Degenerate Dimensions, Aggregate Dimensions, Junk Dimensions, Aggregate Tables.
· Experience working with senior business and senior IT staff to gather and elaborating requirements; Produced written deliverables for Requirement Specifications and Support Documentation to include formal process mapping, glossaries, Data Dictionary, functional and non-functional requirement specifications technical design, key performance indicators, system testing and implementation activities.
· Knowledge and five (5) years experience identifying, translating and documenting the business requirements that are necessary to answer business reporting/analytic requirements.
· Experienced in architecting and reengineering business processes using the Kimball methodologies.
· Coordinated and led business requirements gathering sessions with subject matter experts.
· Has detailed knowledge and understanding of business intelligence functions, including but not limited to analytics, data mining, reporting and dashboard development.
