- They work with 2 TB dataset every night…same scale experience needed.

Position: Database Developer

 

Our client is seeking a database developer with both strong reporting and tool development experience/skills who is able to show as much passion towards supporting existing tools and new development projects. We are a small team that supports several tools as well as OLAP and Data warehousing BI. The majority of the responsibilities/time for this position will be on developing and maintaining financial tools. The team that supports these efforts is small with each of the projects/tools typically supported by a PM and one dev. Existing tool modification and support will also be required. This role will be responsible for the database (TSql, stored procedures, SSIS) and reporting (SSRS, SSAS cube, MDX, EXCEL w/.Net) components of the tools.

 

New Reporting Efforts:

1. Partners with program manager to identify requirements, identify and evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions.

2. Actively participates as a team member on project team

3. Architect, design, and develop (based off of BRD) multi-dimensional schemas and SSRS reporting systems for internal partners.

4. Active participation in technical investigations and prototyping.

5. Makes recommendations to improve business workflow efficiency and information access as well as provide education on the benefits and limitations of technology solutions.

6. Ensure data accuracy and reliability.

 

Maintenance:

A portion of the responsibilities will be toward maintaining existing production tools.

 

Requirements:

1. Must have expert experience with SQL 2008 (or 2012), database design and tuning.

2. Sustain existing DB schemas, stored procedures, etc as required to support business needs.

3. Design and develop required reporting using SSRS and building cubes for reporting.

4. Contribute to development methodologies and best practices.

5. Cross group collaborative work with other Finance groups.

6. Support Testing efforts (integration testing and UAT)

7. Work with PM to provide end user support during period when tool is being used.

8. Author required technical and support documentation

9. Support production SQL processes (design and install patches, add functionality, improve performance).
