The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for gathering and documenting technical requirements for business processes, analyzing/documenting system processes, interacting with business users and software vendors, and drafting technical bug reports. This is inclusive of existing software applications as well as participating in new software evaluation and selection processes. The Business Systems Analyst will be the primary facilitator in technical requirements gathering with various business units and will be responsible for the documentation and further discussion of these requirements with current and potential software vendors. Responsibilities - Work with business units/users to gather requirements and translate into documented and detailed application specifications.
- Serve as the key contact and vendor liaison for assigned applications.
- Stay current with all application upgrades and enhancements.
- Manage vendor work on bugs, upgrades, and customizations.
- Lead the development of system requirements, design specifications, enhancements, risk mitigation, user acceptance strategies & test plans and deployment activities.
- Coordinate with departments to provide application training/education, and documentation.
- Collaborate and participate as needed on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity efforts.
- Provide periodic status reports to management.
Other Functions - Represent Network Health at applicable activities including system user groups and other health data system organizations.
- Maintain professional growth and development through self-directed learning activities and involvement in professional organizations.
- Ensure that all applications, systems comply with HIPAA security and privacy guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements | - Bachelor's degree or 3 to 5 equivalent work experience required.
- 5 to 8 years experience as a technical business analyst, preferably in a Managed Care environment; good working knowledge of software architectures and relational database systems. Familiarity with all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle. Project Management with IT experience desired.
