Position: Back-end ETL Tester
Location: Alpharetta/ GA
Length: 6+ months (long term) – will likely be extended at 6-month increments
Notes:
· No development involved. Scripting, Data Analysis, White Box Testing
· 3 people on the team and they just converted a contractor to perm
· Would like them to have experience around a MS BI stack
Basic Job Function:
This position exists to perform application deployment, maintenance, testing and script development within operational functional areas. Perform daily, weekly and monthly operational tasks required to facilitate the successful deployment of customer products. Act as a knowledge resource to entry level and mid-level staff and provides technical leadership. Provide meaningful input to process development, planning, schedules and approach in the development of cross-functional software products.
Education/Experience
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required
· 7+ years' experience required
Skills
· Strong experience with relational databases – Oracle & SQL server 2005/2008 - Data Warehousing Star Schema(Required)
· Proficient in database query languages – SQL/Oracle (Required)
· Strong familiarity with BI solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence technology stack 2005/2008 – Cube Technology – SSAS, SSIS(ETL)
· Strong Knowledge of testing Microsoft BI(Cube) utilizing Analysis services(Required)
· Willingness to learn new programming language and technologies – HPCC(High Performance Computing Cluster), ECL(Programming Language)
· Familiar with MDX, C# and .Net programming languages
· Strong data analysis skills on large datasets (terabytes) to find discrepancies or trends that impact data quality (Required)
· Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
· Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required)
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform daily/weekly/monthly builds, maintenance/testing, script development/analysis to facilitate successfully customer deliverables- SQL(Integration & Analysis Svcs), Oracle, Quality Center, HPCC Technology(Training Provided)
· Develop, Review, maintain and execute processes that addresses areas in data quality/integrity, process development, flow and efficiency, scalability and capacity planning.
· Test and analyze result within Microsoft BI(Cube) using Analysis services
· Review and execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
· Review documentation of software defects and work with software developers to investigate and resolve the issue
· Review test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
· Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance or completeness or to mitigate risks
· Respond to system alerts and act as point
