Job Description
The team provides essential portfolio accounting and account related data to various trading desks as well as internal systems. The ideal candidate would be able to balance quick turnaround on front-office requests while having a long-term view of how to improve the resiliency and supportability of our production environment.
Responsibilities:
As part of the team, the person in this role will, primarily focus on the following tasks:
- Provide development and support for multiple business and technical areas as reference data is used across multiple areas
- Communicate effectively with detailed business experts (primarily middle and back office users), and transform business flows/concepts into technical implementation.
- Research, develop, guide other team members on technology best practices
Experience/ Technical Skills Requirements:
- 5+ years of overall work experience
- Strong database experience preferably Sybase but other relational DBMS experience (DB2, Sybase IQ etc.) acceptable
- Strong development experience with Java and related web technologies (Apache Tomcat, Spring, struts, ORM, Web Services etc.)
- Ability to articulate ideas and win support of peers and business users via verbal and written communication.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, motivated, process orient with attention to detail
- Financial systems experience highly desirable as well as general financial knowledge of products and processes.
- Cognos Business Intelligence experience is a plus
