Job Title:DataModeler ETL Developer/ Analyst
Location:Beaverton, OR
Duration: 6 months
Responsibilities of the position include:
• Participate on the development team of an iterative BI initiative
• Elicit and document ETL requirements
• Understand source and target data models, including normalized and dimensional models.
• Analyze source and target databases for data profiling and patterns
• Develop source to target mappings and technical specification for ETL programs
• Design and develop ETL code
• Work with data modelers and report developers to ensure that ETL design aligns with data models and report requirements
• Collaborate with Project Manager, Tech Lead, Developers, QA teams and Business SMEs to ensure delivered solutions optimally support the achievement of business outcomes.
• Have a thorough understanding of business scope and requirements and effectively communicating with business and technical teams and translating between business and technical terminology.
• Participate in data definition and data management reviews
• Partner with QA in test planning and testing activities
• Establish and maintain processes to support and grow data management practices at Nike
• Drive the development and enforcement of development and integration standards, patterns and processes.
Requirements for the position include:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent
• 6 years of experience designing and developing ETL using Informatica and PL/SQL
• 4 years of experience working in BI projects
• Strong Experience working on large volume databases, Oracle 10g is required, 11g is preferred
• Proficient in Data-Management concepts, practices and procedures
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills including DDL and DML.
• Strong Informatica development experience
• Well proven skills in data analysis and ability to relate data to business processes
• Experience using CA Erwin or other similar modeling tool
• Strong working knowledge of Relational and Dimensional data modeling concepts
• Familiarity with reporting tools such as Cognos
• Experience with eCommerce and social data is desired
• Demonstrated ability to influence critical business outcomes in a matrix based, global environment
• Experience, interest and adaptability to working in a Waterfall or Lean/Agile delivery environment. Strong preference for multiple years of SCRUM/XP development expertise.
• Ability to manage change effectively
• Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguous requirements
• Strong networking skills and ability to work across multiple organizations
• Excellent communication skills in both formal and informal settings
