As a Software Engineer, you have a penchant for solving complex and interesting problems. To handle information at the scale of financial market data requires ideas from just about every area of computer science, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, data compression, etc. You should have deep technical knowledge, acute attention to detail, and a willingness to learn about financial market data. Additionally, you should be able to promote best practices, and communicate effectively inside and outside of the team.
Responsibilities:
• Write code for server applications, create robust high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly
• Parse and decipher relevant information from multiple large data sets to build the demand side of our presentation model
• Build internal market data systems used by companies clients around the world
• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Experience and domain knowledge of reference data and market data analytics
• Benchmarking, tuning, optimizing and troubleshooting for large scale deployments with focus on concurrent access
• Knowledge of Gigaspaces
• Knowledge of Eclipse IDE, Subversion and Maven
• Confidence to participate and contribute within a fast-paced, technically aggressive, highly skilled and geographically diverse development team
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8 years of relevant work experience, including large systems software development experience.
• Extensive programming experience server-side core Java (not swing or EJB).
• Knowledge of development tools on Windows and/or Solaris.
