Job title: Hyperion Essbase Consultant

Location: Stamford, CT

Must Require:

1. Essbase server support and maintenance.
2. Implement new enhancements and change requests in Essbase.
3. Regular interaction with client, for Essbase support and maintenance.

 

Essbase Administrator will be part of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of the Hyperion financial systems and reporting tools. This position is primarily focused on the Hyperion Essbase product and the coordination of Essbase interactions with the other Hyperion tools which includes Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Financial Data Management (FDM), and Hyperion Planning.  This role involves ensuring the quality and accuracy of data, the execution of Essbase calculations, the management and execution of global processes, and the ability to support the Global Finance Organization.  

1. Create, modify, execute, and maintain Essbase calculation scripts, outlines, member formulas, variable, aliases, partitions, load rules, MXL, security filters, and report scripts.
2. Responsible for understanding and interpreting end user requirements and translating those requirements into well architected solutions and designs.
3. Perform detailed analysis as needed to develop and maintain detailed documentation for all application upgrades, product enhancements, and process modifications. Develop and maintain detailed end user documentation and application administration documentation.
4. Execute on the development, implementation, and testing of developed solutions to ensure business requirements are satisfied and implemented accurately.
5. Create, modify, execute, and maintain Hyperion Planning calculations and modeling.
6. Manage data and metadata load processes and mappings, including validation, to confirm the quality and accuracy of data.

Requirements:

1.      Able to create templates in Excel Add-in

2.      Having Essbase certification conducted by Hyperion

3.      Good functional expertise in BI field

4.      Performance tuning and optimization of Essbase application & database, calc script etc.

5.      Migrating Essbase from one server to another server.

6.      Upgrading Essbase to higher version

Relevant Experience (Yrs)

5 years or more (in Hyperion Essbase)

Technical/Functional Skills

1.      Should be clear on the concept of Multi Dimensional Database

2.      Experience in Essbase 9.3.1, 9.3.3, v11

3.      Should have knowledge of Essbase client server architecture

4.      Able to start stop applications and database

5.      Experience in writing Calc script

6.      Able to design any kind of complex reports using report script

7.      Understanding of different types of partitioning and able to create partition scripts

8.      Should be proficient in Excel Add-in feature

9.      Should be capable of writing Esscmd script to run report script, Load rule, partition script etc.

 

Should be capable of writing MaxL scripts.

1.      Should be capable of taking daily backup

2.      Should be capable of switching database between read-only and read write

3.      Able to restore Application and databases

4.      Should be capable of doing any security related activity in Essbase

5.      Should be capable of designing the load rule to load the data and build the dimension

6.      Experience in restoring data and outline from backup

 

Experience in recovering Essbase from any corruption.

Minimum 4 years of experience in MS SQL Database or any other RDBMS

Should have experience in writing complex SQL stored procedures

Experience in web applications

Exposure to using VB script (VB 6.0)

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
