Job Description:

Collaborate with the ETS solution architects by providing experienced SME to analyze, plan, and design all aspects of the technical solution for the upgrade/migration project of the current WSS 3.0/MOSS 2007 Collaborative Internal and External SharePoint Environment to SP 2010.

 

Supplier Deliverables and Responsibilities

IT SharePoint Solution Architect:   The services of a Supplier Consultant, who will perform the activities and tasks associated with the IT Sharepoint Solution Architect role assigned.

 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to design the technical solution and approach to upgrade the existing ETS Collaborative Internal and External MOSS 2007 environment to SharePoint 2010:

   o Collaborate with existing SharePoint Solution Architects to ensure overall solution is feasible.

   o Account for ETS IT processes and system interfaces (including upstream and downstream, client).

o Ensure overall technical solution complies with ETS IT SDLC where responsibility and accountability are assigned by the IT TPL.

• Coordinate with IT Technical Project Lead to identify solution tasks and adherence to overall plan.

• Coordinate with ETS IT areas through the IT Technical Project Lead to provide consultation and SME with respect to representation of the ETS IT Solution design.

• Provide SP 2010 SME to ETS IT SharePoint team:

   o Provide KT of overall Solution Architecture and approach to existing ETS IT team,

   o Assist ETS IT Team with technical resolution and recommendations in execution of related tasks to completing deployment of SP 2010 Solution,

   o Assist ETS third party IT teams with leading discussions and providing, assistance to answering questions and resolving issues related to execution of the SP 2010 solution.

• Define and break-down the tasks into sub-tasks with predecessors, successors and estimating effort to perform the IT solution design work to be included in the E2E project plan working with the IT TPL to ensure plan is updated.

• Configuration management design and approach defined in support of upgrade approach.

• Facilitate meetings with multiple stakeholders and technical staff, including building consensus and mediating compromises when necessary where responsibility and accountability are assigned by the IT TPL.

• Create the appropriate information architecture, taxonomy and solution approach based on the business requirements for the SharePoint 2010and Office System based solutions.

• Effectively communicate with all levels of business both verbally and in writing and in accordance to the Project communication plan.

 

Deliverables:

• Solution Design Document.

• Solution Design tasks defined and included in the E2E plan for the SP2010 implementation.

Senior Architects are able to perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision. They have proven experience defining systems and application architecture and provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving ability to organization. They consult with the client to define needs or problems, conduct research, perform studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyze problems to advise on or recommend solutions, utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, or technology of specific discipline or field of specialization. 5 years software development, testing, and project management 4 year college degree in computer science or related field with advanced study preferred.
