- • Demonstrated hands on experience with two or more full lifecycle Cognos BI implementation
- • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex BI requirements
- • A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
- • Prioritization and organizational skills to execute and manage many tasks concurrently
- • Advanced knowledge of SQL (3+ year's experience).
- • Java Programming knowledge (1+ year's experience)
- • Strong data modeling and design knowledge: Data modeling theory, Semantic consistency (across the enterprise), 3NF Operational modeling, Dimensional modeling (star schema and snowflake), DBMS constructs (views, constraints, indexes, etc.), Logical and physical data modeling.
- • 10+ years experience in Business Intelligence / IT Industry
- • The most recent 5 years of experience should be in Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing type projects, and the most recent 2 years should be in a Cognos development role, as a senior or lead Cognos developer.
- • 5+ years experience in Cognos BI (Series 8, Report/Analysis/Query Studios, Framework Manager, and Transformer) including architecting, administering, developing and supporting the environment.
- • 3+ years experience in the Cognos 8 suite of Business Intelligence tools. Framework Manager, Query Studio, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Metric Studio, Metric Designer, Event Studio and Reports Administration
- • 3+ years experience in Oracle and Informatica
- • Experience integrating Cognos 8 with SQL Server and Oracle
- • Excellent communication, problem solving skills, decision making, time management, presentation, human relations, and project management skills
