Title: Software Developer
Duration: 6 months - 1 yr
Location: Austin, TX
Requirements:
Our customer software products are rich with features. you will be working with multiple technologies such as device drivers, compilers, application user interfaces, visualization graphics, development tools, application frameworks, and multiple Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows)
Core Job Responsibilities
· Work and interact with a wide variety of our staff in R&D software and hardware organizations, as well as employees from other business groups, including Applications Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Marketing
· Perform research as required to specify and develop or enhance your product, or to define new products
· Specify, design, implement, and test software features and capabilities for new and existing products
· Provide technical expertise and training as needed to Applications Engineers, Product Support Engineers, Technical Writers, customers, or other persons who use and/or support your product
· Diagnose and debug problems with your product or problems arising when your product interacts or integrates with other products
· Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation for the product
Position Requirements
· Minimum two consecutive years of relevant, full-time industry experience
· B.S. or M.S. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics or physics engineering with minimum overall GPA of 3.2 for B.S. and/or 3.5 for M.S.
· Thorough understanding of computers and high-level programming languages
· Proficiency in C/C++ programming preferred
· Strong understanding of the following concepts and principles:
· Operating system components and design
· Computer system architecture and organization
· Data structures
· Development methodologies including object-oriented analysis and design
· Good software design and architecture principles
· Deep understanding of how to solve complex technical problems
· Demonstrated capability to independently define and drive significant software projects to successful completion.
Experience in Kernel and device drivers.
· Passion for learning about and working with computer-industry technologies
· Demonstrated ability to:
· Work effectively in a group development environment
· Problem-solve effectively - diagnose technical issues and propose viable solutions; enjoy problem solving
· Take initiative in tackling difficult issues - be a self-starter and work independently
· Persistently drive tasks and projects to successful completion
· Take ownership of goals and project schedules
· Communicate clearly - Listen attentively, actively participate, and lead fast-paced technical conversations
· Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products
· Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
· Competency in English - can clearly/concisely communicate in English so that others can understand you clearly, particularly in technical conversations.
