Java Project Manager

Location: Rochester, NY

Duration: 8-10 Months+

Rate: Open

 

Job Description:

People Management

-          Lead and motivate a high-energy team. Manage retention

-          Task allocations and tracking

-          Assess training needs and career planning

-          Resource forecasting – On-boarding and Off-boarding planning

 

Project Management

-          Preparing Project Plans and owning the updates to it.

-          Project tracking with hands-on focus on red areas

-          Review monitoring and Project processes and identify improvement areas

-          Build and track plans for application stabilization and improvement

-          Identify risks and develop mitigation plans

-          New work/CR effort estimation and costing

-          Ability to operate across multiple projects concurrently

 

Technical Leadership

-          Provide high level design for the Project requirements and technical guidance to team on complex tasks in projects

-          Sound knowledge of relevant technology architectures and high performance databases in as many as possible for the below (in the order given):

-          J2EE, Oracle

-          For critical issues / red areas, responsible for the appropriate technical solution.

-          Detail problem solving oriented with ownership.

-          Ownership towards technical reviews of key deliverables in the project.
