Position: Microsoft Support
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Work Location: Chevy Chase, MD

Acts as a secondary response for technical support. Provides for complex products, including escalated issues, mainly to end users, along with developers and corporate customers. Provides support via telephone, written correspondence, and electronic media. Works independently with limited supervision. May provide technical training, coaching and mentoring to other engineers. May act as substantial technical resource in certain product areas. (5+ year experience)

  • Experience with application profiling tools such as VS Profiler, dotTrace, YourKit or equivalent is highly preferred
  • Experience with an APM (Application Performance Monitoring) tool such as Wily, SCOM/APM (Avicode), is a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft solution platform is a plus. These include .NET, IIS, SQL Server, BizTalk Server, AppFabric, Visual Studio, PowerShell, and Team Foundation Server.
  • Experience working as part of cross-functional projects that span multiple teams and departments is a plus


The successful candidate will be in charge of performance tuning activities for the MSI catalog of applications. Activities include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing guidance for performance best practices at design time or as part of the code review process
  • Investigating areas of concern early in the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshooting performance issues with application code by the use of profiler tools
  • Working with application architects to identify potential bottlenecks and provide suggestions for remediation

Additional Skills:   

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Candidate must have working understanding of all aspects of SDLC and Object Oriented (OO) technologies, design practices, and implementation approaches.
  • Able to think strategically and be innovative.
