Detail Job Description:

            Design and develops database software on a teradata environment to support the  internet royalty application.

·     Has broad knowledge of data sources, data integration and data flow.

·     Develops data marts, data access layer and staging areas for the BI platform to support royalty process on Teradata systems.  

·     Implements teradata based analytic solutions, rules via stored procedures, custom expressions, or other technologies. 

·     Meets with users to determine requirements for data, reports, meta data and training. 

·     Designs processes to extract, transform, cleanse and load data. 

·     Evaluates, selects, tests and

·     Maximizes hardware and software products for the BI environment.

·     Relies on project management experience to plan and accomplish goals.. 

·     High degree of creativity and latitude is required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·     Analyze functional requirements and solution end-to-end database development in a BI environment supporting royalty development

·     Design and develop database processes to support various projects in the EDW framework.

·     Document processes and mentor development staff through the software development lifecycle process

Minimum Qualifications:

·     Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related course of study required or equivalent

·     7-10 years experience in database development

·     Experience in writing complex SQL to implement business rules, extract and analyze data

·     Excellent Analysis skills

·     Must have excellent client-facing skills and work independently

·     Superior writing and communication skills

·     Ability to handle several major projects simultaneously

·     Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and follow up on unfinished business

Technical Skills:

·     5-7  years experience with Teradata

·     Excellent SQL skills required

·     Experience implementing best practices for Teradata and EDW development

·     Experience using ERWIN or any other data modeling tool is a plus.

·     Knowledge data access layer Cognos Reporting is a plus

·     Knowledge of data security design for self-service BI platforms

·     Expertise in database development in teradata, using its toolset for a high volume data environment.
