Position Title: Web Operations L2(Windows IIS admin with Unix exp)
Exp Level-8 to 10 years
Location-NYC,NY

Position Description:

 

We are looking for a talented individual with good internet infrastructure product knowledge across both Linux and Windows. This global group is focused on supporting hosting platforms (IIS.net and websphere) on which the business can deploy a range of applications based on differing technologies (Java, ASP.Net, WCF, Flex, adobe) for internal as well as external clients. Applicant must possess very good knowledge of Linux Operating System, TCP/IP protocols, particularly TCP and IP themselves, as well as HTTP and DNS.  Experience in Unix shell and competence preferred in at least one major programming language or platform (for example, Perl, Java, ASP, or .NET).  The individual should have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and high pressure situations for outage handling, management or resolution.  Ability in resolving issues and escalating issues to appropriate support teams in an effective manner. Familiar with various monitoring tools which could include netcool, optier , keynote, netiq, scom, Gomez etc..

Skills Required:

 

·         Applicant must possess good knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, particularly TCP and IP themselves, as well as HTTP and DNS.

·         Applicant must possess knowledge of the Windows platform, as well as IIS. Knowledge in more than one of Microsoft technologies and software including Windows in IIS (5.0, 6.0, 7.0), SQL2000, 2005, 2008)ASP/ASP.NET(1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0) and Web Services.

·         The applicant should also feel comfortable with system administration of Unix/Linux infrastructure

·         Applicant should have good troubleshooting skills and capable of reviewing logs to determine possible root cause.

·         The individual should have good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and handle various situations for outage handling, management or resolution.

·         Effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

·         Experience managing system and user configuration across large, distributed environments.

 

 

Skills Desired:

 

·         Java

·         Websphere, tomcat, apache

·         F5 BigIP LTM / GTM experience /Bluecoat

·         Understanding of XML, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, XHTML, DHTML

·         Adobe LiveCycle Data Services, WebSphere Process Server, WebSphere Monitor Server.
