Job Description & Skills:
· Prior Energy industry experience
· Understanding of NERC-CIP requirements
· Prior work in data center wiring and cabinet placement for connectivity to a LAN and WAN
· Understanding of a Wide Area Network and connectivity to a LAN environment
· Understanding of the LAN environment and experience with Cisco routers and switches as well as Checkpoint firewalls is preferred.
· Ability to travel to various customer sites in NE
· Ability to work in Northboro, Mass for the majority of work week.
· Ability to trouble shoot technical problems and coordinate efforts between infrastructure and application groups
· Understanding of fully redundant infrastructure equipment and hot backup techniques
· Understanding of Windows and Linux servers
· Understanding of network security techniques and intrusion detection techniques
Key Responsibilities:
· Managing an inventory of equipment for various site installations of LAN network
· Provide assistance to the LAN engineers during the equipment installation
· Coordinate with the application vendor to properly connect cabinets into the network
· Coordinate with other members of the project team to ensure the infrastructure will support the applications
· Provide documentation of infrastructure components
· Provide status reporting of assigned tasks
· Coordination of efforts during problem resolution among a variety of groups.
· Resolve infrastructure issues regarding connectivity of equipment
