TITLE: ETL Developer (C# & SSRS)

REPORTS TO: Manager of BI and Enterprise Reporting

BUSINESS UNIT: Information Technology

JOB SUMMARY

 

ETL Developer – C# & SSRS:

This position is for an "ETL Developer (C# & SSRS)" role within the Enterprise Reporting Team. This role focuses on Design, development and implementation of ETL Processes (preferably on C#, or on Java/XML), Data Extraction from Oracle 10g & 11g Databases, and integrate with SQL Server 2008 or higher databases to run the SSRS reports (These SSRS Enterprise Reports support financial analytics, performance reporting, and customer management, etc).

The successful candidate will be responsible for ETL Development, Testing & Operations.

The successful candidate must also have the ability to effectively communicate with both Technical & Business resources.

It is highly visible position with long term engagement on Contract / Contract-to-Hire / Direct Hire.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required Experience

• 4 - 6 years progressive ETL development experience, preferably on C# (C-sharp) or on Java/XML.
• 3 - 6 years' experience in ETL designs, data analysis, including relational & dimensional data models.
• Ability to facilitate ETL architecture design and review sessions with SSIS/SSRS developers.
• Design and develop ETL Source to target mappings (preferably Oracle to SQL Server).
• Experience migrating ETL packages across platforms; SQL Server DTS/SSIS.
• Experience designing and expanding ETL naming standards and metadata management policies and processes.
• Gap analysis of ETL requirements & enhance ETL processes (using C#).
• Development experience using SSIS.
• Proficient on ETL Development & Operations in Windows 2008 / XP / 7 & Linux environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead definition and implementation of ETL architecture and platforms.
• Knowledge and experience working basic database administration.
• Strong SQL skills including ability to write in-database transformations using SQL.
• SQL Server and Oracle experience.
• Ability to work with Data Architect and DWH/Reports Developers in the design of data and ETL structures.
• Experience writing SQL stored procedures, views, functions, and creating database structures.
• Data Analysis experience required.
• Experienced in managing version/change control and testing strategies and processes.
• Proven experience with administration and support of ETL jobs in 24x7 environments.
• Strong communication skills.

· Experienced to work independently/coordinate the reports development with other team as necessary.

· Must be Self-directed & be able to meet deadlines and work with little or no supervision.

Helpful to have

• Experience in Oracle 10g or 11g & SQL Server 2008 (or higher) is plus.
• Experience working in a large data warehouse / Reporting environment preferred.
• Knowledge/Development experience of SSRS Reports and SQL Server based Data Warehouse.
• Knowledge of processing XML data constructs.
• Preferred with experience in Mortgage or Financial services industry.
• Prior experience in financial analysis or business analysis a plus.
• Preferred with Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics or Information Systems, or equivalent experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deep understanding of end-to-end ETL architecture design.
• Deliver ETL work packages in support of various Programs.
• Responsible for leading data quality and profiling analysis of all data movements.
• Develops ETL mappings and workflows.
• Monitoring and performance-tuning of workflows and mappings.
• Schedule workflows.
• Support & administer ETL platform in 24x7 cluster environment.
• Establish and implement new or revised ETL Platform system requirements, upgrades, or procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of business processes, cross-functional relationships and their use of information.
• Work with data warehouse team on design of data mart and reporting data sets as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the overall reporting infrastructure as needed.
• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Ability to work independently and as part of the team as necessary.
